Adam Walker uses ESDS to swim Molokai Channel

A British man is one step closer to the elusive "Ocean's Seven."

Adam Walker conquered the Molokai channel, swimming into Diamond Head at about 11 p.m. on Thursday. It took the 33-year-old 17 hours to do it, although it was supposed to take 12 hours.

The 26-mile swim is considered the third most difficult swim of the "Ocean's Seven."

"That is the hardest swim I have ever done. I've done the English Channel, Morocco, Spain, but uhh... But it's all good. It's all over. Pain just lasts for a day, success lasts for a lifetime that's what they say," said Adam.

The channel crossing was sponsored in part by the makers of an electronic shark defense system. Walker said it worked great. The swim also raised money for two charities.
